Purdue enters Friday’s Big Ten clash against Washington with a relatively clean injury report, but the Huskies’ quarterback situation adds a layer of uncertainty. Starting signal-caller Demond Williams Jr.
remains questionable due to a rib injury sustained last week, though head coach Jedd Fisch left the door open for his return. Williams, who threw for 1,396 yards and eight touchdowns through six games this season, dominated Purdue last year with 257 passing yards and two touchdowns in a 49-13 win.
With Williams’ availability in doubt, Washington backup Elijah Brown—who stepped in last Friday against Iowa and threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns—will likely see more action. The Boilers, meanwhile, continue to manage key absences, including defensive back Mister Clark and offensive tackle Joey Tanona, while tight end Kylan Fox and defensive back Raderrion Daniels remain out for the season after knee injuries suffered in fall camp.
Washington’s defense also faces questions, with linebacker Xe'ree Alexander listed as doubtful and defensive linemen Kai McClendon, Jacob Lane, and cornerback Jeron Jones marked questionable. Jones, a standout with 19 tackles and an interception this season, could be pivotal if Williams is unavailable.
Purdue’s offense, meanwhile, remains intact after a 41-13 victory over Minnesota, though the team must prepare for Washington’s dual-threat quarterback options.
