Packers tight end becomes highest paid in NFL with new contract

Green Bay has locked in tight end Tucker Kraft with a historic four-year contract extension right before the launch of the 2026 campaign. The new agreement is worth as much as $92 million and establishes Kraft as the top-earning player at his position across the entire NFL.

The negotiation concluded a standoff leading into Week 1 where Kraft sought a market-resetting annual figure of $20 million, with forecasts indicating he could readily secure $30 million in guaranteed money.

Finalizing the blockbuster pact settles one of the franchise's most pressing roster concerns ahead of their opening matchup, a situation that had drawn public guidance from insider Adam Schefter. Green Bay simultaneously faces uncertainty regarding running back Josh Jacobs, as the organization continues to await word on potential league penalties stemming from his off-field legal troubles.
