Packers Discussion: 1st impressions of Jonathan Gannon’s defense

Playing without Micah Parsons, Green Bay built a 22-10 edge during the third period on the back of Jordan Love targeting Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, and Tucker Kraft. However, Minnesota dominated the remainder of the contest, outscoring the visitors 29-3 after halftime despite quarterback Kyler Murray leaving the game due to an injury.

The contest shifted sharply early in the fourth quarter with Green Bay ahead 22-17. Following a Dallas Turner offside infraction that negated a successful 40-yard Trey Smack field goal, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur chose to decline the points for a fourth-and-1 try at the Minnesota 17-yard line.

Love altered the call at the line, and Brian Flores' blitzing defense held firm, ultimately sealing Green Bay's second-half collapse and extending their losing skid against their division rival.
