Packers Defense: Jonathan Gannon has a lot of answers

Green Bay endured a dramatic Week 1 collapse against Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium, ultimately falling by 17 points despite maintaining a 12-point advantage with 20 minutes remaining in the contest.

Christian Watson provided a bright spot for the Packers by scoring on an 81-yard reception, while the backfield workload was restricted exclusively to Chris Brooks and MarShawn Lloyd without any snaps for Kaleb Johnson. On the other side, Minnesota's quarterback Kyler Murray exited the contest due to a concussion, forcing backup Carson Wentz into action while linebacker Blake Cashman played a pivotal role in the comeback.

Following the opening defeat, defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon acknowledged that quarterback Geno Smith historically performs well against his defensive schemes, as Green Bay also navigated officiating led by referee Shawn Hochuli. Meanwhile, tight end Tucker Kraft expressed concern over unforced mistakes and stagnant in-game adjustments.

Tensions additionally surfaced along the offensive front, where head coach Matt LaFleur contemplated changes at guard for Week 2 while offensive line coach Adam Stenavich publicly offered differing perspectives during his postgame remarks.
