Newcastle impress, Quins win again in Prem Cup

Dan McFarland kicked off his tenure as Newcastle Red Bulls head coach with a 36-24 Premiership Cup victory over reigning champions Leicester Tigers, breaking a nine-match losing streak against their hosts. Dominating early at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, the visitors built a 21-0 interval advantage through tries by Will Rigg, Harrison Obatoyinbo, and Alex Hearle.

James Williams briefly kept the Bears within 17-7, but Rob Baxter's side pulled away as Kane James notched a brace alongside an Ethan Roots score and a penalty try, overwhelming Bristol's second-half efforts from Ollie Harris and a awarded penalty try.
