NBA power rankings: Lakers look dangerous as LeBron’s title hopes heat up

The Oklahoma City Thunder have begun their campaign with victories over San Antonio and Denver, signaling their intent to reclaim the top spot. Meanwhile, LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers are making a strong impression after defeating both the Boston Celtics and the defending champion New York Knicks.

Despite a winless start, the Knicks remain a top contender, while the San Antonio Spurs are working through adjustments to their backcourt rotation. The Houston Rockets have emerged as a potential Western Conference threat, and Walker Kessler is proving to be a vital component for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony Edwards ignited the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 45-point effort, and the Toronto Raptors secured a dominant 43-point win over the Chicago Bulls. The Detroit Pistons face a difficult period following a hamstring injury to Jalen Duren, while the Boston Celtics are seeing high-scoring contributions from Paul George and Jayson Tatum.
