Miyu Yamashita holds off Yan Liu to defend her LPGA Maybank Championship title

Miyu Yamashita successfully defended her crown at the Maybank Championship on Sunday, defeating runner-up Yan Liu by a two-stroke margin in Malaysia. The champion closed out the tournament with a final-round 68 to finish at 22-under overall, sealing her second LPGA Tour victory of the season and her fifth career title.

Yan kept the pressure on with her own closing 68 to secure second place at 18-under. Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and amateur competitor Marisa Tojai finished in a tie for third a further stroke back, while Robyn Choi rounded out the top five.
