The New York Mets have kicked off their offseason roster upgrades with the signing of infield prospect Christian Cairo. The 25-year-old outfielder, who spent the majority of 2025 with the Phillies’ Triple-A affiliate, has agreed to a one-year major league deal after a strong season that saw him split time between Lehigh Valley and Syracuse.
Cairo batted .280 with four home runs, 36 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases across 130 games, showcasing his versatility and offensive contributions at the minor league level. Originally selected by Cleveland in the fourth round of the 2019 MLB Draft, the Florida native now joins the Mets as they look to bolster their bench depth ahead of the upcoming campaign.
