Mansoor Delane, Cooper McDonald questionable to return

Kansas City Chiefs rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane experienced a turbulent NFL debut during a Week 1 Monday night battle against the Denver Broncos. On his initial professional defensive series in the opening quarter, the first-round pick picked off a throw from Denver quarterback Bo Nix.

However, Delane was forced out of the contest shortly thereafter due to a shoulder issue, leaving his availability to return up in the air alongside fellow player Cooper McDonald.

The contest also featured significant roster developments and milestones elsewhere on the field for Kansas City. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes signaled his health with a 15-yard rushing touchdown to open scoring.

Meanwhile, with starting left tackle Josh Simmons sidelined since mid-August by a back ailment among Kansas City's seven declared inactives and two ruled-out starters, undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson took over starting blindside duties against the Broncos' defense.
