Following the Mexico City Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton shared a poignant moment with his long-time race engineer Peter Bonnington. The pair, who secured six world titles together during their tenure at Mercedes, reunited as Bonnington celebrated a new championship victory with driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Antonelli clinched his first world title in his second season by finishing third behind Max Verstappen and Hamilton. This win marked the eighth career championship for Bonnington, who previously earned one title with Jenson Button at Brawn GP.
Hamilton expressed that witnessing Antonelli's success and celebrating on the podium was a highlight of his year. Antonelli plans to display a photograph of himself with Hamilton and Verstappen in his home to commemorate the respect shown by his fellow competitors.
