Islanders Bring in Former Kings Defenseman With Plenty of NHL Experience

The New York Islanders have added a veteran presence to their blue line by signing Ben Hutton to a professional tryout agreement. The 33-year-old defenseman, who previously played for six NHL teams, brings championship experience after winning the Stanley Cup with the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Hutton’s return to the NHL follows a nine-season stretch as a regular, accumulating 226 points across 474 games without a single stint in the minors. His signing comes as the Islanders navigate defensive depth concerns, offering a familiar face with a proven track record in high-stakes play.
