Is Deion Sanders a candidate for FSU job? Fact vs. fiction as Seminoles legend emerges on early lists

Following the dismissal of Mike Norvell on Sunday, speculation regarding Deion Sanders as a potential successor has surfaced. Despite his status as a former star for the program, insiders indicate that the school is hesitant to pursue him due to concerns over the baggage associated with his leadership.

Sanders currently holds an 18-25 record at Colorado, including a 5-14 mark since the conclusion of the 2024 season. He was notably absent from major candidate lists, including the 21-person board compiled by 247Sports that featured Jimbo Fisher.

The university is currently navigating a search for a new athletic director while managing financial challenges.
