Hope for history: WI skipper eyes Salt, Babar's world records in 5th T20I vs India

India and the West Indies are tied at two matches apiece heading into the final fixture of their five-game Twenty20 international series. The deciding contest will take place in Bengaluru on Saturday, offering the visitors an opportunity to claim a series victory while their skipper chases major individual milestones.

West Indies leader Shai Hope enters the closing match needing seventy-one runs to eclipse Phil Salt's benchmark for the highest run total across a bilateral Twenty20 series. Hope also requires just twenty-five more runs to surpass Babar Azam's record for most runs scored by a captain in a bilateral twenty-over series, and another hundred would grant him the outright record for centuries hit by a skipper in the format.
