Fantasy Football RB Report: Disrespected backs David Montgomery, Bucky Irving shine in Week 1

Ahead of the NFL's opening week, Pro Football Network's positional hierarchy features several noteworthy running backs positioned across the top thirty. David Montgomery sits at No.

20 as Buffalo heads to Houston with an overhauled rushing scheme, while Bucky Irving stands at No. 24 following an off-year in 2025, contrasting sharply with an eight-touchdown debut campaign.

Right behind them is Bhayshul Tuten at No. 21, projected to capture over 60 percent of his backfield's scoring share against competitor Chris Rodriguez in a Trevor Lawrence-led unit.

Further down the board, Chuba Hubbard holds the No. 28 spot for Carolina against Chicago after overcoming a preseason hamstring injury, though competition from Jonathon Brooks could suppress his workload below his previous season-opening tally of 19 touches.

Closing out the list at No. 30 is Kenneth Gainwell, whose initial fantasy value hinges on Irving's improving physical condition despite coming off a productive 73-reception campaign.
