Fantasy football buzz: Kenneth Walker III gives MVP effort in Chiefs debut

September 15, 2026

Kenneth Walker III delivered a dominant performance during his first outing with Kansas City on Monday night, logging 69 percent of offensive snaps and posting a personal-best 173 rushing yards and a score across 23 attempts, with 129 of those yards coming on perimeter runs. The former Super Bowl XL champion also secured three of six targets for 18 yards and an additional touchdown, amassing 34.1 fantasy points to rank second among running backs in a week where 12 players eclipsed the 30-point mark.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes also contributed significantly in his return from injury against the Denver defense, tallying 184 passing yards, two aerial scores, an interception, 23 rushing yards, and a ground touchdown on seven carries to post 21.66 fantasy points.

Conversely, Denver endured a disjointed offensive showing in coordinator Davis Webb's first game calling plays. Quarterback Bo Nix managed only 131 passing yards, one touchdown, an interception, and two rushing yards while losing one of his three fumbles to finish with 5.44 fantasy points.

Receiver Jaylen Waddle recorded just one reception for two yards on three targets alongside a dropped pass in his team debut, while snap-leader Courtland Sutton hauled in two of five targets for 11 yards. Target leader Pat Bryant paced the receiving corps with four catches for 42 yards on six looks, offering the lone bright spot in an attack that never held a lead.
