ESPN’s Paul Finebaum Calls CFP Committee ‘A Disgrace’ and Demands Resignation for Robbing Big Ten Program

November 5, 2026

Paul Finebaum expressed outrage over the College Football Playoff committee's initial rankings, which placed the two-loss Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 12.

During an appearance on Get Up, the analyst argued that the team was penalized unfairly despite scheduling a difficult non-conference road game against Texas. He went as far as to suggest the entire committee should step down, claiming he could assemble a more competent group from a local tavern.

The Buckeyes' current standing follows a 24-23 loss to Texas in Austin, where they surrendered a 20-point lead, and a subsequent defeat to USC. Meanwhile, Indiana holds the No.

4 spot despite having lost to Ohio State 19-15 earlier in October, and Alabama sits at No. 5 as the highest-ranked two-loss program.
