Colonial Country Club faces a potential departure from the PGA Tour schedule as the organization plans a 2028 overhaul. While the venue has hosted annual events since 1946, reports suggest it will not join the new Championship or Challenger series, potentially shifting to host the PGA Tour Champions' Charles Schwab Cup Championship instead.
This transition would conclude an eight-decade tradition at the site famously dubbed Hogan's Alley. The course has hosted legendary figures including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, and Annika Sorenstam, and notably served as the site for the PGA Tour's 2020 restart following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ben Hogan remains the most decorated player at the club, securing five victories there, including the inaugural 1946 tournament and his final career win in 1959. Tom Watson also remains a notable figure in the club's history for his performance at age 48.
