The Philadelphia Eagles have added depth to their receiving corps by re-signing wide receiver Erik Ezukanma to the practice squad, a move that comes as the team navigates key injuries among its starters. Ezukanma, a 2022 fourth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins, had previously spent time with the Eagles’ offseason roster before being promoted to the active roster in August.
During training camp and preseason action, he showed flashes of potential, recording four receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown, offering a glimpse of his offensive contributions. With DeVonta Smith and Hollywood Brown currently sidelined due to hamstring and ankle injuries respectively, Ezukanma’s addition provides the Eagles with an extra option at a critical position.
The team now boasts seven receivers on its active roster, including established names like Darius Cooper and Britain Covey, while Ezukanma joins Xavier Gipson as the only receiver on the practice squad. This latest transaction follows other roster adjustments, including the signing of center James Brockermeyer and the promotion of running back Dameon Pierce from the practice squad to the active roster.
