During a recent road matchup against the eighteenth-ranked USC Trojans, fifteen-ranked Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore suffered a concussion following a targeting penalty and had to be carted off the field on a stretcher. Backup quarterback Dylan Raiola stepped into the contest and tossed two scoring passes, helping secure a 41-27 victory for his team.
Following the game during the squad's bye week, head coach Dan Lanning appeared on The Jim Rome Show to discuss how his reserve signal-caller stayed prepared. Lanning revealed that prior to the matchup, Raiola had willingly simulated opposing quarterback Jayden Maiava while running scout team plays on the opposite side of the field to assist the defense.
