Lhuan-dre Pretorius falls 12 runs short of T20 double century after breaking Chris Gayle’s record

Lhuan-dre Pretorius delivered a historic performance for the Titans against the Knights by hammering an unbeaten 188 runs off 79 deliveries during the CSA T20 Challenge opener. His incredible knock featured 15 boundaries and 13 maximums, allowing him to eclipse Chris Gayle's long-standing benchmark of 175 not out set in 2013 while narrowly missing out on becoming the format's first double-centurion.

Following a brisk opening partnership with Sinethemba Qeshile, Pretorius continued his assault alongside late contributions from captain Donovan Ferreira to lift the Titans total to 267/3. In response, the Knights faltered under pressure despite early aggression from Jacques Snyman and Gihahn Cloete, ultimately collapsing to 143 all out as the Titans secured a massive 124-run victory.
