Daily Norseman Roundtable: Know Your Enemy — The Chicago Bears

Ahead of their opening matchup of the 2026 NFL campaign, the Chicago Bears are generating massive buzz centered on quarterback Caleb Williams and his second year operating under head coach Ben Johnson. Coming off an encouraging 2025 showing, Williams enters the regular season just a single outing away from equaling Sid Luckman's historic franchise mark of eight consecutive contests.

Outside observers such as retired quarterback Drew Brees are projecting an impending leap into elite territory for the young passer, though question marks remain regarding whether the squad's defensive unit can match the output of an explosive offensive scheme.

Elsewhere around the league and the wider sports scene, the rival Green Bay Packers finalized a four-year contract extension worth $75 million with tight end Tucker Kraft. Meanwhile, baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani has been placed on the injured list for the first time, and the tennis world is anticipating the men's final at the US Open between Ben Shelton and Alexander Zverev.
