The Chicago Blackhawks fell 4-1 to the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night, marking their first game in six days. Wearing their black alternate jerseys for the 2026-27 season, Chicago started strong with a goal from Connor Bedard at 4:23 of the first period, assisted by Patrick Kane.
This was the team's first single goal in over a week, following a shutout loss to the Dallas Stars.
Jake Evans scored twice for Montreal, including the tying goal in the first period set up by Kirby Dach. Evans also scored a shorthanded goal in the second period after Chicago's five-forward power play, missing defenseman Bowen Byram, struggled.
Spencer Knight stopped 24 of 27 shots, but the Canadiens added an empty-netter in the third to seal the win. Chicago now faces the Florida Panthers on Sunday for their 11th game of the season.
