This opening victory notched the American star her eleventh three-set triumph at a WTA 1000 tournament this year, placing her level with Elina Svitolina for the most on the tour during the current season.

Gauff is aiming to secure a fifth WTA 1000 crown and solidify her qualification position for the upcoming WTA Finals as she navigates the late-season Asian swing.
