College coach fired in the middle of a game

During a blowout matchup against the Oregon State Beavers, Colorado State Rams defensive coordinator Tyson Summers was dismissed from his role before the contest concluded. Following a stretch of poor defensive performances that included surrendering significant yardage and high point totals in previous weeks, coaching leadership made the decision to permanently remove Summers from the sideline.

Kenny McClendon stepped in to take over defensive play-calling duties for the remainder of the game, earning praise from head coach Jim Mora for his handling of a difficult situation.
