KOLKATA, October 3, 2026 — Brazil marked their historic first senior men's international against India with a 4–0 victory at a packed Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.
India made a determined start, but Brazil gradually took control and opened the scoring in the 28th minute through Estêvão.
Pedro doubled Brazil's advantage before half-time, leaving India with a difficult task after the break.
Brazil continued to control the game in the second half, with Samuel Lino scoring twice to complete the 4–0 victory.
Lino's goals were his first two for the Brazilian national team. Estêvão also contributed an assist for Pedro's goal.
India created opportunities of their own, including chances for Manvir Singh and Ryan Williams, but were unable to find a way past the Brazilian defence.
For Carlo Ancelotti, the match provided another opportunity to assess his squad as Brazil continue building towards their next competitive cycle.
For India, the fixture represented one of the biggest occasions in the national team's history and gave the Blue Tigers valuable experience against one of football's most decorated nations.
The final score read India 0–4 Brazil, with Brazil completing their Australia-and-India tour with two wins and one draw.
