India all-rounder Hardik Pandya faces another setback in his recovery after experiencing discomfort in his right calf during a recent match simulation. Medical evaluations revealed a mild stress response in his right shin, forcing the player to sit out for a period of three to four weeks.
As part of his ongoing treatment, Pandya has been advised to undergo vitamin D supplementation alongside bisphosphonate therapy lasting six to eight weeks. Consequently, the star cricketer will miss the upcoming fifty-over series between India A and Australia A in Puducherry, and remains doubtful for the tour to New Zealand.
Sourav Ganguly recently emphasized the critical role the seam-bowling all-rounder plays in maintaining team balance for upcoming international tournaments. Ganguly noted that managing the player's physical readiness presents a significant hurdle for the coaching staff.
With Pandya sidelined, observers have pointed toward alternative squad members like Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravindra Jadeja to help fill the void.
