Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love connected on a 53-yard strike to wide receiver Christian Watson early in the second quarter of the Packers’ 27-19 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Watson secured the ball at the Carolina 26-yard line but was tackled hard by defensive backs Zakee Wheatley and Will Lee III, leaving him on the ground with his chest facing the sky.
He was escorted to a local hospital for precautionary evaluation after spitting blood, but returned to the stadium within an hour and re‑entered the game late in the third quarter, receiving a loud ovation from the crowd. Watson finished with six catches for 100 yards at halftime, added two more receptions in the second half, and helped Green Bay improve to 5-3.
Will Lee III also suffered a leg injury on the same play and was carted off, while the Packers continue to cope with the loss of receiver Jayden Reed, who is out for the season after a neck injury. Watson’s quick return highlighted the team’s resilience after the early setback.
