Big Blue View mailbag: First impressions, retired numbers, penalty reviews

Following an opening-week victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, the New York Giants are preparing to travel west for a matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The triumph marked the franchise's first Week 1 win against their division rival since 2016, prompting Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to concede that Dallas had taken New York too lightly.

Second-year passer Jaxson Dart drew high acclaim from three former NFL quarterbacks alongside offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, and he has been organizing extra team sessions to uphold the standard set by new head coach John Harbaugh.

Ahead of their upcoming contest against the Rams, defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson is focusing on reducing defensive pass interference infractions, which constituted forty percent of the penalties called against the Giants in their opener. Personnel questions also linger regarding cornerback health, Paulson Adebo's role, and ball-security concerns surrounding Tyrone Tracy's fumbles.
