The turning point occurred early in the third quarter when Draymond Green received a pair of technical fouls and an automatic ejection following an altercation involving Khaman Maluach and Dillon Brooks.

Stephen Curry led the charge by scoring thirty four points, including twenty five in the second half, while his teammates tightened their defense in Green's absence to outscore Phoenix fifty nine to forty five.
