Andy Reid offers minimal update on 2 Chiefs injuries

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid provided few details regarding two Chiefs injuries following Monday night's Week 1 rout of the Denver Broncos on September 14, 2026. Rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane experienced an eventful debut, snatching an interception on Bo Nix's opening pass during his third professional defensive snap before exiting later in the first quarter with a shoulder issue.

Meanwhile, quarterback Patrick Mahomes demonstrated complete recovery from his prior left knee injury by scrambling 15 yards to cap Kansas City's opening possession with a rushing score.

Denver struggled on the evening as Nix endured a turbulent 2026 return. Appearing in his initial regular-season contest since a fractured ankle sidelined him during the previous postseason's AFC title clash against the New England Patriots, the Broncos quarterback was sacked and threw a turnover on his very first series at Arrowhead Stadium.
