Amit Mishra returns to Delhi Capitals as spin bowling coach for IPL 2027

Amit Mishra has transitioned into coaching, joining the Delhi Capitals staff for the 2027 IPL season. The former leg-spinner, who retired from cricket last year, will oversee the team's spin bowling department.

He joins a revamped leadership group that includes Sourav Ganguly as head coach, Yuvraj Singh as assistant and batting coach, and Chaminda Vaas as the fast bowling lead. Mishra brings extensive experience to the role, having played 162 IPL matches and secured 174 wickets, including a unique record of three hat-tricks for different franchises.

His primary focus will be mentoring the team's young spin talent, including Zeeshan Ansari, Vipraj Nigam, and Rehan Ahmed. This appointment marks Mishra's first professional coaching position, reuniting him with the franchise where he spent a significant portion of his 16-season playing career.
