Urban Meyer Delivers Brutal Reality Check to Former Team After Picking It to Win the National Championship: "2-3 Loss Team"

Urban Meyer has publicly questioned Notre Dame's championship potential following their 28-24 loss to BYU. Despite the Fighting Irish previously holding a 6-1 record, Meyer suggested that facing a more rigorous schedule would likely result in two or three defeats for the team.

This critique arrives as Meyer acknowledges his own miscalculations regarding how NIL and the transfer portal would impact competitive balance in college football. He noted that instead of elite programs dominating, the landscape has shifted toward increased parity, a trend highlighted by a historic Saturday where five of the top seven teams suffered losses.
