Afghanistan has climbed to seventh in the latest ICC ODI team rankings, matching their highest-ever position. This shift occurred after they surpassed England by a single rating point following a successful tri-series campaign.
In the final held in Sharjah, Afghanistan chased down a target of 170 to defeat Zimbabwe by seven wickets. Ibrahim Zadran anchored the pursuit with an unbeaten 70, supported by Rahmat Shah and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Earlier, Rashid Khan led the bowling effort with three wickets, while Mohammad Nabi, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Bilal Sami each claimed two to restrict the opposition. Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl were the primary contributors for Zimbabwe.
Rashid Khan was honored as the Player of the Series for his 11-wicket haul, while Zadran received the Player of the Match award.
