Aakash Chopra wants CSK to release two players, backs Ruturaj Gaikwad's retention

Analyst Aakash Chopra has outlined his retention and release recommendations for Chennai Super Kings ahead of the upcoming player deadline under newly appointed head coach Zaheer Khan. Following consecutive difficult seasons ending in bottom-tier finishes, Chopra strongly backs keeping captain and opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad regardless of cost, alongside Dewald Brevis, Akeal Hosein, Jamie Overton, and Matt Henry.

Meanwhile, the franchise is advised to part ways with underperforming assets, specifically targeting expensive former uncapped signing Prashant Veer alongside Australian batter Matt Short ahead of the auction in Goa.
