Ruturaj Gaikwad demonstrated his versatility in the Ranji Trophy by anchoring Maharashtra to a massive first-innings total of 527/5 against Jharkhand. Batting at number seven, Gaikwad remained unbeaten on 101, marking his tenth first-class century in 49 appearances.
He was supported by Ankit Bawne, who scored 169 runs to help build a commanding 358-run lead after Jharkhand was bowled out for 169. Prithvi Shaw also featured in the innings, contributing 21 runs before his dismissal by Manishi Singh.
The declaration followed a dominant display that saw the team capitalize on a strong partnership between Gaikwad and Bawne.
