With Stribling out at least a month, 49ers must adapt their passing game

The San Francisco 49ers opened their campaign with a 27-7 triumph against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia, but the victory came at a significant physical cost. Rookie wideout De'Zhaun Stribling, chosen in the second round out of Ole Miss, sustained a deltoid ankle sprain that prompted the franchise to shift him to injured reserve.

The setback will sideline San Francisco's top selection for at least four games as medical assessments regarding his care proceed.

Stribling was not the lone casualty from the opener, as tight end Jake Tonges also sustained an MCL sprain during the contest. To help bolster their depleted receiver corps in Stribling's absence, the organization elevated KhaDarel Hodge from the practice squad to the active roster.
