Yaxel Lendeborg has sparked a heated exchange with Luka Dončić after his debut, labeling the star a “crybaby” and saying he has lost respect for him. Despite the controversy, both Stephen Curry and coach Steve Kerr praised the rookie’s fearless attitude, noting that his confidence must be matched by performance on the court.
Through his first five games Lendeborg, the No. 11 overall pick, is averaging 22.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and four assists, making him the first Warriors rookie since Curry to post at least 25 points in three consecutive games.
He is also the first rookie in nearly seven decades to reach 100 points, 45 rebounds and 20 assists in that span, with his 113 points ranking third‑most for a rookie’s first five games this century behind Kevin Durant and Paolo Banchero, and his rebounding totals the best since Shaquille O’Neal in 1992.
