Unsigned Red Wings RFA Simon Edvinsson Returns To Sweden

As the Detroit Red Wings approach the start of their upcoming campaign, restricted free agent defenseman Simon Edvinsson has departed North America to train with Frolunda in his home country of Sweden. The young blueliner remains without a deal, differing from the franchise over whether to agree to a bridge deal or a longer-term commitment.

Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff stated that the organization intends to continue discussions regarding a new agreement. Edvinsson previously joined training camp and participated in non-scrimmage drills despite his unsigned status, expressing a desire to remain aligned with his teammates as the regular season begins.
