Ducks open the season with a 4-3 victory over the Golden Knights

Leo Carlsson recorded a goal and an assist while goaltender Lukas Dostal turned aside 27 shots as Anaheim began their campaign with a narrow 4-3 triumph over Vegas on Friday evening. The visitors built a commanding four-goal cushion through contributions from Beckett Sennecke, Carlsson, Alex Killorn, and Jeff Malott before weathering a furious late push featuring tallies from Shea Theodore, Tomas Hertl, and Braeden Bowman.

Carter Hart finished with 16 saves for the hosts, who had previously defeated Chicago on Tuesday. Following this opening contest, Anaheim prepares to welcome Florida on Sunday, while their opponents travel to face Vancouver on the same night.
