Tyreek Hill wants an NFL return, but these three obstacles could keep him off the field

October 14, 2026

Eight-time Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill is pushing for a swift return to the NFL, but his path back faces significant hurdles. The Miami Dolphins cut ties with the 32-year-old wide receiver last offseason following a serious knee injury in September 2025, and while he’s actively rehabbing with hopes of rejoining a team soon, his former club, the Kansas City Chiefs, remains a top contender for a reunion.

His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has confirmed ongoing talks with multiple franchises, emphasizing the need for the right financial terms, a compatible quarterback, and medical clearance to finalize a deal. However, Hill’s return is now overshadowed by an NFL investigation tied to allegations from his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, who filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of domestic violence.

A recent jury verdict found Hill liable for two counts of battery—stemming from a January 2024 incident sparked by a dispute over a postnuptial agreement—while dismissing other charges, including intentional emotional distress. Vaccaro was awarded $500,000 in damages, though punitive damages were denied, adding another layer of uncertainty to his potential comeback.
