Millwall's Neil criticised over racial abuse stoppage comments

Millwall manager Neil Harris faced criticism after questioning the stoppage of his team’s match over alleged racial abuse directed at a player. During the game at The Den, referee Edward Duckworth paused play to address the incident, consulting with both sets of coaches and confirming the accusations through a public announcement.

Police were involved in identifying offenders using CCTV footage, while Kick It Out condemned the abuse and praised the clubs for following proper protocols to ensure accountability. Harris expressed frustration with the delay, arguing that the game’s restart should take priority over addressing the issue on the field.

Despite his comments, Millwall ultimately lost 1-0 after conceding a late goal in the 90th minute, adding to the team’s disappointment following the incident.
