Netcompany Ineos sign 23-year-old former Tour de l'Avenir winner for 2027

October 14, 2026

Netcompany Ineos has announced a trio of signings ahead of the 2027 season, with British rider Joe Blackmore joining the squad after a standout 2024 campaign. The 23-year-old, who won both the Tour de l’Avenir and the U23 Liège-Bastogne-Liège, brings a strong U23 pedigree to the team, though his 2026 season was derailed by knee injuries that forced him to withdraw from all but three races.

Despite the setback, Blackmore completed his first Tour de France in 2025 and finished fourth in the Brabantse Pijl that same year, showcasing his versatility across different race formats. His move follows a two-year stint at NSN and Israel-Premier Tech, and he has signed a three-year deal with Ineos, expressing excitement to rebuild his career with the team that inspired him as a young rider.

The signing of Blackmore is part of a broader strengthening of Ineos’s climbing lineup, with the team also welcoming James Shaw and Clément Champoussin. Shaw, a 30-year-old veteran with seven Grand Tour finishes but no wins, returns to the WorldTour after five seasons at EF Education-EasyPost, having previously raced in lower-tier squads.

Champoussin, a 28-year-old French climber with a notable victory in the 2021 Vuelta a España, joins from XDS-Astana after stints at AG2R-Decathlon, Arkéa-Samsic, and Astana. Both riders bring experience and proven climbing ability, adding depth to Ineos’s roster for the upcoming season.
