Trey Gibson grew up in front of our eyes this year

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Trey Gibson turned in a brilliant performance on September 23 during the second game of a doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays, tossing six and two-thirds scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and only three hits and two walks allowed. The strong outing followed a turbulent 2026 campaign that saw the young right-hander struggle during a June stint in the majors, resulting in a demotion to Triple-A Norfolk after posting a high ERA and enduring a rough June thirtieth appearance against the White Sox.

Despite those struggles, Gibson had previously earned organizational recognition after leading the system in strikeouts in 2025 and claiming the Minor League Pitcher of the Year award, following his signing as an undrafted free agent from the Chatham Anglers in 2023.
