Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel has resumed practice after spending time on injured reserve due to a back injury sustained in late August. While the team has not rushed to add him back to the active 53-man roster, head coach Todd Monken emphasized a measured approach, noting the three-week window remaining to assess Gabriel’s recovery.
Monken highlighted the importance of gradual reintegration, allowing Gabriel to rebuild his reps through individual work and potential look-squad appearances. The Browns currently carry three quarterbacks on their roster: starter Deshaun Watson, backup Shedeur Sanders, and rookie Taylen Green, leaving little immediate need for roster adjustments.
Gabriel’s return could provide depth, as he started six games last season, completing over 59% of his passes for 937 yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions in 10 appearances.
