Southampton forward Cyle Larin has enjoyed a blistering start to the campaign, sitting atop the Championship scoring charts with seven goals across seven league fixtures, totaling eight strikes in nine matches overall. Scoring once every 73 minutes, the 31-year-old Canadian international outpaces the conversion rates of Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe at 75 minutes and Manchester City's Erling Haaland at 90 minutes, while also netting more times than any competitor across the five major European leagues.

His scoring streak garnered him August's Championship Player of the Month honors and saw manager Tonda Eckert proclaim him the division's top frontman, despite rivaling talents such as Jarrod Bowen, Raul Jimenez, Mohamed Toure, and Will Lankshear. Larin's offensive output has hoisted Southampton out of a negative four-point hole following their Spygate sanction up into eighth position on 10 points, a tally that would place them second trailing only West Ham on goal difference without the penalty.

Nicknamed after his Ontario hometown, the attacker has compiled 17 goals in 31 games for the club since arriving from Mallorca on an introductory loan in early 2026, scoring three minutes into his debut and wrapping up his prior half-season with eight goals in 16 appearances.
