The Chicago Bears kicked off their 2026 campaign with a record-setting offensive display, defeating the Carolina Panthers 59-37. Head coach Ben Johnson, who stated prior to the season that capturing a Super Bowl would not suffice without establishing the highest-scoring attack in league history, saw his team cross the goal line eight times.

The 59-point total eclipsed the organization's prior Week 1 franchise benchmark of 45 points established against the Green Bay Packers back in 1948.

Entering his third year as Chicago's starting quarterback, Caleb Williams orchestrated the eruption alongside targets like Rome Odunze and Luther Burden. Despite the lopsided victory, Williams and Johnson maintained that the unit still has room to improve after committing penalties and missing on fourth-down attempts.

The squad now turns its attention to preparing for an upcoming home clash against the Minnesota Vikings.
