Souttar's Rangers exit in doubt - gossip

John Souttar's anticipated switch from Rangers to Aris Thessaloniki has stalled, amid reports from Greece that the Scotland international is holding out for a severance settlement from the Glasgow outfit. Meanwhile, the Ibrox hierarchy could turn to former midfielder Lee McCulloch for their vacant technical director position following Dan Purdy's departure, with McCulloch presently serving as Brighton's talent acquisition manager.

Across the city, Celtic are monitoring 22-year-old Liverpool full-back Luke Chambers prior to the winter market opening, while veteran winger James Forrest remarked that opposition backlines are already fearful of new colleague Haissem Hassan following the Egyptian attacker's impressive initial displays. Elsewhere, Stockport County boss Jimmy McNulty acknowledged that an injury sustained during pre-season likely wrecked a potential switch for forward Adama Sidibeh, which in turn cost St Johnstone a significant windfall via a sell-on clause.
