Following a challenging campaign that fell well short of expectations, the Seattle Mariners have chosen a new leader for their dugout. Jason Kanzler, previously serving as the director of player development for the Chicago Cubs, will take over as the twenty-second manager in franchise history.
This appointment marks the first time the thirty-six-year-old will step into a managerial role at any level of professional baseball. The organization hopes this fresh leadership will help turn things around after regression and injuries hampered the club during the previous summer.
