Seattle Mariners claim Michael Toglia off waivers from Cincinnati Reds

First baseman and outfielder Michael Toglia has changed organizations following a Friday transaction where the Seattle Mariners picked him up off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. Toglia spent the 2026 campaign primarily with triple-A Louisville before making ten appearances in the majors for Cincinnati, batting three for twenty-six with twenty-two home runs in the minor leagues and twenty-five big-league homers back in 2024 with Colorado.

During an August twenty-first road fixture against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Toglia sustained a right shoulder dislocation while attempting a diving grab in left field, an injury that concluded his campaign and terminated his tenure with Cincinnati. The twenty-eight-year-old former first-round draft selection now transitions to Seattle, while his former club must adjust their roster depth with thirty-seven players currently occupying their forty-man list.
