Seahawks injury update: Date for Zach Charbonnet’s practice return ‘coming soon’

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will sit out the upcoming Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals after hurting his glute in a season-opening victory against Drake Maye and the New England Patriots. Darnold managed to steer clear of an injured reserve stint, paving the way for Drew Lock to take over under center this week.

While an appearance against the Washington Commanders in Week 3 seems improbable, league insider Ian Rapoport points to a Week 4 clash with the Los Angeles Chargers at Lumen Field as the most plausible target for Darnold to get back on the field.

Running back Zach Charbonnet is also expected to have a timeline established shortly regarding when he can resume training. Elsewhere on the roster, wide receiver Cooper Kupp progressed from limited work to handling a full practice workload.

Safety Ty Okada remains sidelined after missing another session, while defensive back Nick Emmanwori maintained a limited status and offensive lineman Anthony Bradford is dealing with knee and hip issues.
